The Proceedings in Egypt, Is There Light?
Now that former President of Egypt, Hosni Mubarek, has stepped down after 30 years as president. What is next for the country of Egypt? How long until actual progress begins to take place? Where is Egypt headed?
Well, for now, it seems it will be the Egyptian Military in charge and apparently they are somewhat "old and resistant to change". Egypt is also second only to Israel in aid received from the US at $1.3bn a year. And according to U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham most of the aid goes directly to the military. He said,
“The money we’ve been providing to the Egyptian army over the last 30 years and the training we’ve been providing the Egyptian army as well as equipment paid huge dividends in this crisis,”
“The relationship between our military and the Egyptian military kept this thing from spiraling out of control.”Graham told The Greenville News.
It seems to me things are just fine. The U.S. is completely in control of the situation and has been from the start. Now they just need to find another puppet to step in so no American interests are interfered with. Its pretty clear that the U.S. is calling the shots in Egypt. However, I do believe there will be radical change in the future. As long as Washington is fine with it. Read more:
