(PressTV) At least three people have been killed in a US assassination drone strike in Afghanistan’s east central province of Maidan Wardak, Press TV reports.
The drone strike was carried out during the early hours of Monday. Some reports say the victims were members of the Taliban militant group. However, Taliban has made no comments so far.
The United States claims its drone strikes are part of the so-called war on terror and target militants, but reports on the ground show that civilians often fall victim to the attacks.
On November 22, a similar airstrike killed seven people in the eastern province of Nangarhar. Locals said the attack completely destroyed a mosque.
In October, five civilians, including three children, were killed in a drone strike near the city of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar.
